Delaware County Democrats Hold Convention

The Delaware County Democratic Convention was held recently at the West Delaware Middle School in Manchester. Delegates for the 2008 Presidential candidates were elected to attend the District Convention in Dubuque on April 26th, as well as the State Convention in Des Moines on June 14th. Seven delegates were elected for Barack Obama, five for Hillary Clinton and three for John Edwards. Guests at the Convention included State Representative Roger Thomas of Elkader and State Senators Brian Schoenjahn of Arlington and Tom Hancock of Epworth. The Delaware County Central Committee also recently elected new officers at their March meeting last week. Roger Edgington was again elected Chair, Bill Lester elected Co-Chair, Mike Rowling elected Treasurer and Robin Stone elected Secretary. The new officers will serve two-year terms. The Central Committee meets on the third Tuesday of the month at the Glenn Restaurant in Manchester. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 6 pm. All interested Delaware County Democrats are invited to attend.
