Delaware County Supervisors News
03/24/2008
The Delaware County Secondary Roads Department has completed plans for the bridge on W-63 on the west side of the county. An amendment including the plans has already been included in the county's five-year construction program. A letting for the bridge work will be held June 17th, and an early start date will be requested.
Meanwhile, on the south side of the county, crews will begin work on the X-31 bridge south of Buck Creek next Monday. County Engineer Mark Nahra says the bridge could be closed for 8 to 12 weeks. An out-of-control trash fire burned portions of the bridge several years ago, along with 120 acres of CRP land. Crews were able to repair the damaged piling while waiting for the bridge to be replaced.
In other county news, Community Mental Health Center Affiliation was approved. And the County approved the retirement of a jailer at the Delaware County Sheriff's Department. Roger Satterly will retire as a full-time employee at the end of April.
