Ed-Co Gains Support for Possible Preschool Program
04/16/2008
The Ed-Co School District is doing what many districts in Iowa are now doing--pursuing the statewide voluntary preschool grant. Ed-Co hosted an informational meeting Tuesday night for parents in the community to fill them in on how the potential program would be set up and to get an idea of the level of interest. Ed-Co High School Principal Ed Klamfoth, who organized and conducted the meeting with Elementary Principal Paul Wenger, says the thirty or so parents who attended the meeting were very supportive of a possible preschool program.

Klamfoth says they're not quite sure of how many preschoolers would take advantage of the program, since there are already a couple of established preschools in the Edgewood area.
If Ed-Co is accepted for the grant, the preschool program would start as soon as this fall at the elementary location in Colesburg. But it's still an "if"--there's a lot of work to be done before the grant application is due May 9th.
It's important to note that families do not have to be in the Ed-Co School District to take part in this potential Ed-Co Preschool Program. If you would possibly be interested in enrolling your child in this program, or if you're in support of it or just want more information, call Ed-Co Principal Ed Klamfoth at 928-6412.
