Earlville Accident Injures Several Teens

An accident in Earlville last Wednesday morning sent several people to the hospital. The Iowa State Patrol says 17-year old Crystal Hanson of Earlville was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville after she pulled out in front of another vehicle at the intersection of North West Street and Elizabeth Street. Her car was broadsided by another car carrying five people. The driver of that car, 16-year old Patrick Rutherford of Earlville and one of his passengers, 14-year old Morgan Rutherford, were taken to Regional Medical Center by private vehicles. The State Patrol says Hanson had a difficult time seeing Rutherford approach due to a parked car blocking her view.
