Iowa begins spring practice for 2008 football season
03/26/2008
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - The NCAA men's and women's basketball
tournaments are in full swing, but it's time for football.
Iowa opens spring practice today. Coach Kirk Ferentz will talk
to the media about what's in store for the Hawkeyes in 2008.
Iowa finished last season at 6-and-6, and for the first time
since 2000 the Hawkeyes missed out on a bowl game.
Ferentz is expected to be asked about his players' conduct off
the field. Fourteen players have been arrested since the end of
last year's spring practice.
Iowa has signed 24 players to national letters of intent -- 12
on offense and 12 on defense.
The Hawkeyes' spring practice wraps up on April 19th with an
open practice at Kinnick Stadium.
