Manchester is moving to an automated garbage and recycling system. And that means everyone in residential areas will be receiving new garbage and recycling cans.
City Manager Tim Vick explains:
Recycling will move to every other week now – more information about that can be found in a letter that will be dropped off with your new cans this week. And Vick says garbage will now be picked up two days a week in Manchester instead of three, so your garbage pickup day may change.
Vick says the City is looking at a 31-cent per month increase in garbage fees for the next six years.
The new garbage and recycling cans will be delivered to the doorsteps of Manchester residents this week. The old green recycling totes can be disposed of at the Manchester City Shop.
