Michele Gaffney, 59, of Marion, Iowa died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at her home.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Winthrop, with Rev. David Beckman officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Fawcett-Schmitz Funeral Homes, Winthrop in Winthrop.
Inurnment: St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Winthrop, Iowa.

Michele Elizabeth Gaffney was born October 10, 1961 in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel Bernard & Sharon Josephine (Meacheak) Gaffney. She graduated from Starmont High School in the class of 1980. Michele continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where she Earned a B.A. in Home Economics. She moved to California where she worked in food products research and development. Michele returned to Iowa and lived in Manchester and Marion and she worked for National Oats. She had previously enjoyed coaching youth soccer in Manchester. Michele enjoyed cooking and published her own cookbook.
Michele is survived by her 2 Sons: Zachary Sheeley of Oxnard, California and Tyler Sheeley (Nicole Deutmeyer) of Marion; Granddaughter: Madi Sheeley; Father: Daniel Gaffney of Lamont; 3 Siblings: Paul (Ann) Gaffney of Ames, Sherryl (Ellis) Gaffney-Paige of Marion & Pat Gaffney of Waukee and Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, mother on January 10, 2008 and a brother: David Gaffney.
