A popular Dyersville restaurant has permanently closed.
Country Junction announced January 1st that they would not be re-opening, noting that they were among the restaurants significantly impacted by the pandemic.
Country Junction opened in 1990, a family-style restaurant built by Jerry Koch and designed to look like an old barn and silo. Over the years, the restaurant was visited by celebrities, sports icons and presidential candidates, while also serving local residents and tourists.
Dave Buchheit, who purchased the restaurant from Tom King in 2014, announced in a Facebook post that the decision to close was a difficult one. He plans to sell or lease the property.
Country Junction will hold a sale of their gift shop items Saturday morning from 8 to 11 am.
