Regional Medical Center CEO Charlie Button has announced his resignation due to health issues. RMC released the following press release this morning:
“It is with a heavy heart that we update the community that our current Chief Executive Officer, Charlie Button, will be resigning from his position within the next two weeks. His resignation is a result of personal health challenges Charlie has experienced over the past year. He had planned on leading our healthcare institution for many more years into the future but needs to step back and focus on his personal health and well-being.
Through his tenure as CEO, Charlie helped lead RMC through the expansion of the Regional Family Health service to the Dyersville community, the addition of a new in-house MRI, physician recruitment, the transition to a new electronic health record, and the current renovation of our OB Department which is set to be completed next month. Charlie is known throughout our facility and community as a very personable and fun person to be around.
Charlie shares, “I cherish the friends and colleagues I have made and the great community my wife and I joined almost four years ago. Regional Medical Center is a great healthcare system because of the employees we have.”
Danette Kramer, Chief Financial Officer, will serve as the Interim CEO, and with the rest of the Leadership Team, will continue to lead Regional Medical Center through the challenges we face now and in the future. The Governing Board of Trustees will begin a search for a permanent CEO in the near future.
Please join us in wishing well to Charlie and thanking him for his service to our community as well as for his continued health.”
