Clayton County Food Shelf Hosting Souper Bowl Sunday

The Clayton County Food Shelf is holding their annual “Souper Bowl Sunday” fundraiser this weekend to help raise money to feed the hungry in their county.

Longtime coordinator Utoni Ruff says before COVID, they were helping an average of 84 families a month – but it’s been higher since the pandemic hit.

And they have a new system in place to help keep everyone safe during COVID.

Ruff says the Clayton County Food Shelf is there to help residents in many situations.

The Clayton County Food Shelf provides a variety of food, including fresh produce, as well as meat through the HUSH program. Along with donations, they have a couple of fundraisers that help get them through the year – one is the Holiday Train that comes through Clayton County each December – and the other is “Souper Bowl Sunday”, which is going on this weekend.

If you’d like to help now or anytime, you can mail a check to the Clayton County Food Shelf at PO Box 48 St. Olaf 52072.
