HS BASKETBALL: Monday night results/Tuesday night preview

In coverage area high school basketball from last night, in Dyersville the West Delaware Hawks were swept by the Beckman Blazers. In the girls game, the Blazers held on for a 33-27 win to improve to 8-10 in their final regular season game. The Hawks dropped to 4-14. On senior night for the boys, the Blazers honored their five 12th graders and sent them out with a final regular season home game victory 55-51 by coming back after they were up by 12 heading into the fourth quarter. The Hawks put together a furious rally led by Logan Woellert who hit 6 three-pointers on the night and tallied 21 points. WD outscored the Blazers 19-11 in the final period, they took the lead in the closing minutes before the Blazers responded. It was a contest that saw 5 lead changes and 6 ties. Jack Gehling led Beckman with 21 points. The Hawks fell to 9-9 while the Blazers improved to 11-7.


The North Linn girls beat Ed-Co 65-28.

The East Buchanan girls clipped Lansing Kee 38-36 while the Buccaneer boys fell 67-63.

Tonight the West Delaware Girls and Boys will be back on the road traveling to Marion to face the Indians with a 6:00 start for the girls game. Bill Logan and Roger Wright will have the call here on Mix 94.7.

The Western Dubuque Girls will travel to Cedar Rapids taking on Cedar Rapids Prairie.

The Maquoketa Valley Girls will host Springville while the Wildcat Boys will entertain Ed-Co.

North Linn’s Boys team will be at Alburnett, the East Buc Boys will head to Starmont.

In the RVC in Boys play, Anamosa is at Tipton, Monticello will be in Camanche and Cascade is at Gooselake facing Northeast.
