Manchester Students Graduate from DARE Program

St. Mary’s sixth graders and West Delaware’s fifth graders are now DARE graduates.

The Manchester Police Department has been presenting the DARE program at St. Mary’s and West Delaware Middle School since 1993. DARE – which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education – is a 10-week scientifically-proven program that helps students in problem solving so they can make informed decisions and resist pressures.

The local DARE graduations were held last week, with short ceremonies honoring the graduates and top essay winners.

Congratulations to the ten essay winners – Payton Deutmeyer-Burkle and Holly Gudenkauf at St. Mary’s and Jeanne Bardgett, Madi DeLaHunt, Wyatt Krum, Addilyn Meyers, Tamara Pittman, Elisha Thompson, Joshua Sleper and Bella Wegmann, all from West Delaware.
