Dyersville is on the road to implementing five new goals by the year 2030.
Over the past two months, the community submitted over 400 ideas through the Imagine 2030 community vision process. Dyersville Chamber Director Karla Thompson:
Ten local residents have been chosen to serve on the Idea Selection Committee – Tara Rahe, Janie Ament, Sandi Feldmann, Carol Ruden, Michael Clasen, Ted Boffeli, Mark Singsank, Nicole Rubner, Jarred Hentges and Bethany Steffen.
This is the second community vision process that Dyersville has done. Imagine 2020 began in 2008, with four of the five projects completed by 2020 – the Highway 20 overpass, the Dyersville Social Center, walking and biking trails and the pedestrian bridge connecting West Side Park to Candy Cane Park. The one project that didn’t get done was an Alzheimer Unit – but it made on the list of 400 ideas this time too, so the possibility is still there.
