Neil Delois Morarend passed away Friday, April 16th at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.
Visitation will be from 9-10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 21, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg, with a 10:30 A.M. memorial service. Burial will be at a later date.
Neil was born November 13, 1955 in McGregor, IA to Delois and Lois (White) Morarend. He was raised on the family farm by Motor Mill. Neil was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Churn in Elkport and Graduated the Central High School, Elkader. Neil served 4 years in the Marine Corps and 16 years with the 229th Engineer Company, Wisconsin National Guard, he served in Desert Storm, Panama, Honduras and California. Neil then worked for Doug Reimer for over 30 years.
Neil is survived by his beloved spouse of 36 years, Carol Moser; stepchildren Jennifer (Jerry) Moser, Gwen (Eric) Knutson, Amy (Jason) Moser, and Debbie Jo (Jason) Moser, stepgrandchildren; Josie Young, Tyler Heidemann, Gavin Moser, Kenzie Hempstead, and John & Nikolas Panagiotou; and siblings, David (Kris) Morarend and Barbara (Rollie) Totman, several nieces nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Neil is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randy.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Strawberry Point Lutheran home and St. Croix Hospice (Pastor Pat and Danielle) and other nurses for all the care and compassion for Neil.
