At the WaMaC Conference Girls Golf Super meet at Pin Oak, West Delaware just missed the title by 3 strokes falling to Williamsburg 379-382. Solon was third and Beckman fourth with 418. Independence was sixth with 431. The medalist was Hawks senior Mia Peyton with an 88, Beckman’s Shea Steffen was 2nd with an 89. Ella Koloc was 4th with a 92 while Hawks Freshman Maylin Coates had a 93.
WaMaC Conference Boys Golf Super meet at the Wildcat course near Shellsburg-
Solon won it with 317, Beckman 2nd with 320, Independence was 3rd with 325. West Delaware was 11th with 355. The Hawks Elias Tibbott placed runner-up with a 73 just one stroke from the top spot. Caden Larson of Independence was 5th with a 76. Nate Offerman of Beckman had a 76 in 6th place, Nick Offerman a 77 good for 9th place.
Alburnett won the Girls Tri-Rivers West Division meet at Buffalo Creek in Winthrop with a team score of 394 – just 4 strokes better than 2nd place Ed-Co. Springville was 3rd; Starmont 4th; East Buchanan 5th; followed by North Linn, Central City, and Maquoketa Valley. Ed-Co’s Maddy Streicher won her second conference championship – shooting a 75. Starmont was led by Sydney Baumgartner with a 96, good for 5th place. Jaeden Hellenthal of East Buchanan was 6th with a 99. Kaela Clemen led Maquoketa Valley with a 102 for 10th place. North Linn’s Sydney Smock came in 19th with a 110.
The Western Dubuque Girls finished 2nd at the MVC Divisional with a team score of 344 – 12 strokes behind first place Iowa City Liberty.
The Monticello Boys beat Camanche 161-199 at Valley Oaks Golf Course in Clinton. The Panthers’ Justin Recker was medalist with a 39. Bo Kramer and Ty Kehoe each contributed a 40 for Monticello.
