HS SPORTS: Thursday Preview

State Qualifying Co-Ed Track and Field Meets will take place around the state today. All sites will start at 4:00.


West Delaware and Western Dubuque will travel to Independence. Other schools there will be CP-U, Charles City, Decorah, Vinton-Shellsburg and Waverly-Shell Rock.

Monticello will be in Solon along with Central DeWitt, Maquoketa, Marion, Mount Vernon, Dubuque Wahlert and Cedar Rapids Xavier.


Anamosa is at Tipton with Bellevue, Camanche, Durant, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, Northeast, Regina of Iowa City, West Branch, West Liberty and Wilton.

In Jesup, Beckman and Cascade will be joined by Crestwood, Denver, New Hampton, North Fayette-Valley, Oelwein, Postville, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Union Community and Waukon.


North Linn will journey to Belle Plaine competing against Alburnett, B-G-M, Central City English Valleys, North English, GMG, H-L-V, Iowa Valley, Meskwaki Settlement, Montezuma, North Mahaska, Springville and Tri-County.

And in Edgewood, Ed-Co will host Maquoketa Valley, East Buchanan, Starmont, Central Elkader, Clayton Ridge, Easton Valley, Lansing Kee, Bellevue Marquette, MFL-MarMac, Midland, Prince of Peace, South Winneshiek and Turkey Valley.

There will be no more than 24 qualifiers for any event and those qualifiers will advance to the 2021 Iowa High School State Track & Field
Championships next Thursday through Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. 

The West Delaware Girls Golf team will travel to the Airport National Golf Course in Cedar Rapids for an 11-team meet with a tee-off set for Noon. 

The West Delaware Girls and Boys Soccer teams will be in play. The girls will host Decorah while the boys will head there, both matches will have a 5:00 first kick.
