HS SPORTS: Monday night results and Tuesday State Co-Ed Golf Preview

In High School Baseball last night-

The West Delaware Hawks moved their record to 3-5 as they split with the Stormin’ Pointers of CP-U in Center Point. It was a tale of 2 very different games.   CP-U took the first one 10-0 in 6 innings. The Hawks came back and jumped on CP-U right away with 5 runs in the top of the first, they held on to win 6-1.

Beckman was swept by Solon at Jenk Field, 13-7 and 5-3.

Independence dropped two close one’s at home to Marion, 9-6 and 3-0.

North Linn swept Starmont 11-0 and 11-1.

Ed-Co fell to Calamus-Wheatland 6-1.

Western Dubuque lost a pair of one run contests to Dubuque Wahlert, 6-5 and 4-3.

In Softball-

The WD Hawks improved their mark to 6-3 with a sweep of CP-U, 5-3 and 8-5.

Independence was beat by Marion 9-2.

Anamosa double up Camanche 14-0 and 12-0.

Cascade took two from North Cedar 11-1 and 16-3.

Ed-Co lost 2 to Cal-Wheat 11-10 and 11-2.

North Linn over Starmont, 7-0 and 11-1

Maquoketa Valley lost both to Springville, 9-4 and 6-5.


The State Co-Ed Golf meet starts up at 9:00am in Marshalltown. West Delaware will be represented by cousins Peyton Lewin and Maylin Coates competing and coached by WD Boys coach Christi Imsland.
