Two people were injured following a collision north of Ryan on Tuesday.
It happened around 10:15 am on Highway 13 just south of D42. The Iowa State Patrol says 78-year old Larry Fuller of Central City was driving his pickup southbound when he crossed into the northbound lane to pass a motorcycle. His pickup struck an oncoming northbound SUV.
The pickup came to rest in the east ditch facing west. The SUV came to rest in the northbound lane facing north.
The two people in the SUV had to be extricated from their vehicle by mechanical means. The State Patrol says the driver, 60-year old Donald Allen of Manchester, suffered possible injuries and was transported to Regional Medical Center in Manchester. His passenger, 61-year old Sharon Allen of Manchester, was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The Iowa State Patrol says Highway 13 was closed for about two and a half hours on Tuesday at the site of the crash.
