Linn County is going back to wearing masks indoors.
Linn County Public Health is following the latest CDC recommendations to protect against COVID-19 and the Delta variant. The CDC recommends that everyone, including those fully vaccinated, wear a mask in public indoor settings in area with substantial and high transmission.
Linn County is currently an area of high transmission as defined by the CDC.
Linn County Public Health Director Pramod Dwivedi says they are seeing a rapid spread of the virus among unvaccinated people. Dwivedi says they whole-heartedly join the CDC in recommending that everyone – regardless of vaccination status – wear a face covering indoors in Linn County. She says they’re offering the same advice to their K-12 schools.
