Starting later this month, ATVs can spend more time in Dyersville.
The City Council passed an ordinance at the start of summer allowing ATVs and ORUVs on some city streets – but only for six weekends from June through September from 5 am to sunset.
But some City Council members say they’ve been getting phone calls about the confusion of not knowing which weekends they’re allowed in town.
On Monday night, the Dyersville City Council approved amending the ordinance to allow ATVs and ORUVs every day from sunrise to sunset through October 31st. The change will go into effect next Friday, August 27th.
The ordinance passed on a 4 to 1 vote, with Councilmember Mike English voting against it.
City Council members say they haven’t seen many ATVs in Dyersville, though the ones who have come to town seem to be following the ordinance’s rules.
