Four local school districts will receive federal coronavirus funding for mental health services.
Bradley Niebling with the State Education Department says West Delaware, Maquoketa Valley, Monticello and Anamosa are among 64 school districts in Iowa receiving a variety of services, such as behavorial health screening and therapy. He says the money can also be spent on training for teachers.
Niebling says the need for these types of training and programs has increased.
Niebling says 130 schools applied for the grant funding. He says there is a ten-day appeal period for those schools who did not win a grant, and then the money will go out to the schools.
