The sixth annual Hero Hustle Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon took place on the South side of Manchester in and around Schram Park on Sunday morning. The event, put on by a committee of community volunteers led by Manchester Parks and Rec Director Doug Foley, raises money for Delaware County Emergency Service Departments.
Adam Rave won the male Sprint Triathlon with a 1:05:11. The 3rd title for him with his other two first place finishes coming in 2018 and 2019. In the male team race, the Dyersville Fire Department won with a time of 1:18:57. Second place was Earlville Fire and EMS with a 1:45:35. 19 & under was won by Nolan Ries with a 1:18:00. The 20-29 age division saw Mitchell Knock win with a 1:16:50. 30-39 went to Christian Sande with a 1:07:07. 40-49 was won by Curtis Rosing with a 1:08:19. 50-59 saw a 1:19:36 from Blaine McLaughlin. 60+ was won by Ted Olson with a 1:33:53.
The female side was won by Elaina Beekler with a 1:11:41, her 2nd title and first since 2019. Team relentless won the female side with a 1:29:56. Ella Koloc took the 19 & under division with a 1:38:53. 20-29 went to Lexi Doyle with a 1:28:06. Elizabeth Eser won the 30-39 with a 1:13:34. 40-49 went to Amber Sheeley with a 1:24:30. 50-59 was won by Pam Connolly with a 1:21:11. 60 + was taken by Susan Schares with a 1:33:28.
The mixed team race was claimed by Team Bearjambob with a 1:23:16.
In the Duathlon, Doug Schumacher won the male side with a 1:14:03 and Julie Archer was second and the top female with a time of 1:14:03.
