The Linn County Treasurer’s Office is closing to walk-in customers until further notice.
The County says it’s due to a staffing shortage caused by COVID-19 positive cases and exposures.
The Linn County Treasurer’s Office will continue processing transitions received through the mail, drop box and email and responding to the heavy volume of phone calls as staffing levels allow.
A white drop box is available outside the Public Service Center on 2nd Ave. SW in Cedar Rapids for anyone who needs to drop off payments, vehicle registration renewals or other paperwork. Vehicle registration renewals and property taxes can be paid online at Iowataxandtags.org.
The temporary closure went into effect Tuesday.
