Two children in a stroller fell off a small ledge at Backbone State Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2 pm on the north end of the East Lake Trail. Park Manager Nate Detrich says the two young children were in a two-seat stroller with their mother present with the stroller fell about ten to fifteen feet off a ledge.
Detrich says the two children were both alert after the fall. They were transported to Regional Medical Center in Manchester for further evaluation.
No further details about the incident have been released.
Several local agencies responded to the park, including Dundee and Strawberry Point fire departments, Iowa DNR, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and RMC Ambulance.
