Delaware County’s Sleep in Heavenly Peace Chapter is expanding to Dyersville.
Organizer Keith Kramer of Hopkinton says they’re holding a Bed Build day on Saturday morning at the Dyersville Commercial Club Park Shelter, starting around 7:30 am and wrapping up around 10 am.
They’re planning to build twenty beds, which will go to kids in the Dyersville area who don’t have one – who may be sleeping on the floor or on a mattress.
That’s the mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a national non-profit organization that Kramer became involved with a couple years ago. Last year, he started a chapter in Delaware County – and within their first year, their group of volunteers was able to build and deliver over one hundred beds to kids across the county.
If you’d like to help build beds in Dyersville this weekend, you’re more than welcome to show up and help. Tools or experience is not necessary.
