A canvass of last Tuesday’s city and school elections in Delaware County hasn’t changed any of the results.
Delaware County officials canvassed the votes on Monday afternoon, making the results official.
Auditor Carla Becker says the results of the races remain the same, including the City of Delhi – where write-in candidate Marty Kelzer received 108 votes, defeating current mayor Greg Preussner, who received 89 votes. Becker says Kelzer will take over as mayor of Delhi at their first meeting in January.
Several cities had positions on their city councils that needed to be filled, with not enough candidates filing to run.
At Monday’s canvass, write-ins Dale Smock and Tony Giorgenti were declared elected to the two remaining seats on the Earlville City Council.
The third position on the Ryan City Council was officially given to write-in Matthew Marbach.
And the fifth position on the Delaware City Council went to write-in Larry Tibbott.
Becker says the third position for the Edgewood City Council will be decided in a runoff election on November 30th.
