Delaware County will be holding public hearings on its newly-proposed redistricting maps.
The County’s Redistricting Board has drawn up new maps, with two members presenting them to the County Board of Supervisors on Monday.
Supervisor Shirley Helmrichs says there is very little change. The boundaries of District 1, which covers Manchester, has moved slightly to the north. District 2, which wraps around District 1, would now include the town of Delaware. And District 3, which covers most of the area south of Highway 20, has a small change in its boundaries as well.
The redistricting maps determine the three County Supervisor positions. Currently, Jeff Madlom represents District 1, Pete Buschmann represents District 2 and Shirley Helmrichs represents District 3.
Helmrichs says the County will need to hold two public hearings prior to approving the new redistricting maps. The first public hearing will be held Wednesday, December 15th at 5:30 pm at Seibert Park in Manchester, with the second public hearing scheduled during the Supervisors board meeting at the Delaware County Courthouse on Monday, December 20th at 1:15 pm.
