Delaware County Public Health Notes Change to SHL At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits

Delaware County Public Health says there’s been a change to the State Hygienic Lab At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits.

Previously, the State Hygienic Lab and Iowa Department of Public Health said the test kits couldn’t be frozen – however, the State Hygienic Lab has done additional validation testing and found there is no impact on freezing the collection devices before and after the samples are collected.

Completed test kits can once again be dropped off at the UPS drop box outside GNB Bank in Manchester. They can also be dropped off at the RMC East Office Building at 613 West Main Street in Manchester Mondays through Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm.

The At-Home COVID-19 Test Kits are free. They are not rapid tests – the results are typically available via email in three to five days.

If you need a test kit, you can pick them up at the RMC East Office Building Mondays through Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm. If you have any questions, call Delaware County Public Health at 927-7551.
