Riverview Center Receives $5,000 Grant to Help Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse

Riverview Center has received a $5,000 grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity.

The grant will help fund counseling supplies to child survivors of sexual abuse in northeast Iowa.

For over twenty-nine years, Riverview Center has provided healing and justice to sexual abuse survivors free of charge. They’re a non-profit agency serving fourteen counties in Iowa, covering the entire KMCH listening area including Delaware, Buchanan, Dubuque, Clayton, Fayette, Jones and Linn counties. Their services include 24-hour crisis hotlines; medical, legal and general advocacy; one-on-one counseling and support groups; professional trainings; and violence prevention initiatives. Riverview Center’s 24-Hour Iowa Sexual Assault Hotline is 888-557-0310.

The grant will specifically help Riverview Center purchase critically-needed art and play therapy supplies as the center prepares to welcome children back to their offices when it is safe to do so.
