The High School Basketball season in the new year got underway last night around the state.
In girls play-
Independence got past Oelwein 42-37
Central Elkader defeated Central City 60-45
Tonight the West Delaware Girls and Boys teams return to play on the road in Solon. Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bill Logan will have all the coverage on Mix 94.7, kmch.com and the KMCH App beginning around 5:55pm.
Elsewhere-
The Beckman girls will head to Marion while the Blazer boys will host the Wolves.
The Independence girls welcome in South Tama, while the Mustang boys travel to Tama.

Ed-Co will be in Central City.
North Linn entertains East Buchanan.
Starmont at Springville
