One person died in a collision in Jones County on Tuesday.
It happened at the intersection of Highway 64 and 140th Avenue in rural Anamosa around 5:20 pm. The Iowa State Patrol says a car crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a SUV nearly head-on.
One person died in the accident. Authorities say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt. Another person was injured and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Their names are being withheld until family has been notified.
The accident remains under investigation.
