HS Wrestling: Hawks Travel To Williamsburg For Battle Of Top Ranked Teams

The West Delaware wrestling team will put their 9-3 record on the line tonight as the top ranked Hawks will face top ranked in class 1A Don Bosco in Williamsburg. The two teams met in the final meet before Christmas at the Battle of Waterloo in a dual the Dons who enter the night 13-2 won 30-29, the Hawks however just defeated the Dons by 43 1/2 points this past Saturday at the Jerry Eckenrod Invitational at Benton Community. Don Bosco holds an 8-5 edge over the Hawks in the all-time series which dates back to 1986.

In the Hawks final dual of the night, they will put their 5-0 WaMaC Conference record on the line when they take on the host Williamsburg Raiders. The two teams have had a great history with one another since Williamsburg joined the WaMaC in 2009. The Hawks own an 8-3 record over the Raiders including a 53-9 win in the state dual final in 2020 and won last year’s meeting 56-12 at the Seedorff Gymnasium in Manchester.
