High School Sports: West Delaware’s Matt Weis recognized as IWCOA Northeast Iowa District A.D. of the year

West Delaware High School Activities Director and Assistant Principal Matt Weis has recently been selected as the Northeast Iowa District Athletic Director of the year by the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association. West Delaware veteran head wrestling coach Jeff Voss talks about the process of how Weis was selected for the honor and what he means to not just his staff but other coaches and AD’s in the area:

Coach Voss will present Mr. Weis a plaque on behalf of the IWCOA at the program’s season ending awards banquet in early March.
Weis is a 1998 graduate of East Central in Miles and graduated from UNI, where he played Baseball, in 2003. He has been at West Delaware since the start of the 2017 school year. Before that he was at Central City for twelve years teaching Math and Physical Education while also serving as the head Football and Boys Track coach for several seasons and the Activities Director for the last seven years he was there. Weis and his wife Alisa reside in Manchester with their two children, 14-year old son Kinnick and 6-year old daughter Emma.
