56 area wrestlers in class 1A and 2A will attempt to finish in the top two of their weight class tomorrow and advance to next week’s State Wrestling Tournament as they compete in district tournaments.
West Delaware qualified 12 wrestlers to the class 2A district in Maquoketa and head coach Jeff Voss says his team is excited to compete in the district meet:

Independence will have nine wrestlers competing at the class 2A district meet at New Hampton. In class 1A five area teams will be in Cascade for districts. Beckman will have six wrestlers, East Buchanan, Maquoketa Valley, and North Linn all have three, and Cascade will have three. Ed-Co and Starmont will be in Jesup for their class 1A district tournament as the Stars will have six competing while Ed-Co will have two.
In class 3A Western Dubuque will send their team to Cedar Rapids Jefferson districts as they will be joined by the host J-Hawks, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Cedar Rapids Washington, Clear Creek-Amana, Iowa City West, Linn Mar, and Marion.
