Judy Rae Fenton, 77, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 25, 1944, at home in Scales Mound, Illinois, the daughter of John and Mildred (Moyle) Wilcox. Judy attended school in Scales Mound as a young girl and then attended rural country school near Strawberry Point, graduating from Arlington High School. She worked as a waitress for Mrs. Goodell in Strawberry Point and at City Laundry in Oelwein until her marriage.
On November 23, 1963, Judy was united in marriage to Carroll Fenton at the Arlington United Methodist Church. Three sons were born to this union. Together Judy and Carroll lived on a farm between Arlington and Fayette until farming by Wood Center. Judy and Carroll eventually bought their farm outside of Strawberry Point. Alongside Carroll, Judy was a true farmwife, milking cows, baling hay and driving tractor.
Judy loved animals, gardening, country music and watching westerns. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carroll Fenton; her three sons, Ranger (Donna) Fenton of Dyersville, Scott Fenton of Delaware and Timothy Fenton of Strawberry Point; three grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, and Helen Fenton; her three sisters, Janice Wuebben of California, Joan Walz of Oelwein and Holly (Jerry) Shannon of Fairbank; and nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Michael Shannon and two brothers-in-law, Leo Walz and Paul Wuebben.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care that Judy was given.
