An East Buchanan student was taken into custody after bringing a weapon to school last week.
The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrived at East Buchanan High School around 12:45 pm Wednesday for a reported weapons violation. After meeting with school administrators, deputies seized a firearm from a vehicle parked on school grounds.
On Saturday afternoon, deputies arrested a 14-year old juvenile from Aurora, charging him with Carrying Weapons on School Grounds. The juvenile was booked into the Buchanan County Jail and later released to his parents. He will be referred to Juvenile Court Services.
The Sheriff’s Office says no malicious intent was found.
