Delaware County Supervisors Meeting Recap

The Delaware County Board of Supervisors met Monday.
The Supervisors set two public hearings for March 28th – one to discuss the Secondary Roads Construction Program for 2022-2023 and one to discuss amendments to this year’s program.
The Board also set March 21st as the date to receive bids for a new tandem dump truck chassis and a new motorgrader.
They also approved an agreement with Linn County for road maintenance, snow and ice removal along the county line. County Engineer Anthony Bardgett says it’s not a lot of changes – it just spells out who takes care of maintenance for specific roads in that area.
The Supervisors approved hiring two new county employees – Judith Eckman will start full-time as a deputy with the Delaware County Auditor’s Office on March 14th and Danielle Poore will start part-time with the Community Life Program on March 21st.
And the County approved a detour request for the Civil War Days Parade in Hopkinton on June 4th – they’ll be closing Highway 38 from about 9 to 11 am and re-routing traffic on 310th Street and several city streets.
