Dyersville Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday

Get your green on this Saturday and come to Dyersville for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Cindy Oberbroeckling with Total Fitness Rec Center says it all gets underway on Saturday morning with the Gaelic Gallop.

You can still sign up for the Gaelic Gallop on Saturday between 8:15 and 9:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Auditorium. A heads up for drivers – County Road X-49 on the west edge of Dyersville will be partially closed from 10 to around 11 am on Saturday for that 8K race.

And if you’re not a runner or walker, you could always ride your bicycle in the Ride the Shamrock bike ride – the ride starts in downtown Dyersville at 11 am and travels about eleven miles to The Big House in Petersburg.

Dyersville’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 1:30 pm, beginning at the Basilica and traveling through the downtown area up 1st Avenue to 6th Street Southeast to 3rd Avenue Southeast and back to the Basilica. And afterwards, Dyersville Commercial Club Manager Ashley Cosselman says there will be lots of entertainment options throughout town.

Cosselman says it’s just a fun day for the community to come together.

You can find more details about Saturday’s Dyersville St. Paddy’s Day festivities on the Dyersville Commercial Club Park Facebook page.
