Manchester Police have arrested three people on drug charges.
Police received a call of shots fired in the 700 block of South 3rd Street earlier last week – the call came in last Monday night, March 7th after 10:30 pm.
As officers arrived on the scene, a witness reported that a silver car was seen leaving the scene. The car was stopped by police, who could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Officers investigated the shooting incident, along with the marijuana smell. While searching the car, they found illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested 18-year old Dayton Kearns of Hazelton and 21-year old Seth Chapman of Manchester, along with a minor. Kearns and the minor have been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (for methamphetamine and marijuana) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chapman has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The investigation also uncovered that they were not involved in the shots fired call that was reported. The shots fired call is still under investigation.
