West Delaware’s Together We Are Campaign is hoping to reach their fundraising goal.
The school’s counselors started the campaign last year with hopes to stop the stigma surrounding mental health. They want to create an understanding that the brain is an organ that can get sick too – and change the way we talk about “mental” health to a conversation about “brain” health.
One key component is to make brain health more visible to everyone in order to create a culture of support and acceptance – so as a starting point, they’d like to provide t-shirts for the students and staff. The t-shirts will be designed by students and help support the theme.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help raise money for this cause, with every dollar raised going to help purchase t-shirts and other items necessary for brain health awareness activities.
