Delaware County Public Health says certain individuals are now eligible to get an additional COVID-19 booster.
The CDC says if the following ages have received their first booster dose at least 4 months ago, they are now eligible to receive a second booster dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine:
- Ages 12+ who are moderately or severely immunocompromised (can receive Pfizer)
- Ages 18+ who are moderately or severely immunocompromised (can receive Moderna)
- Ages 50+ (can receive either Pfizer or Moderna)
In addition, adults aged 18+ who received a primary vaccine and a booster dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months ago may now receive a second booster dose using an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (either Pfizer or Moderna).
Booster doses are readily available, so Delaware County Public Health is encouraging you to schedule your appointment today if you are eligible.
