The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight is in Washington, DC today.
Around ninety veterans and guardians are on today’s flight to visit the World War Two Memorial and other war and national monuments.
The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight shared a photo of the only World War II Veteran on their flight today as he was being thanked at the World War Two memorial by a mother and her two children (pictured below).
The majority of veterans on today’s flight served during the Vietnam War.
They’ll be making their way back to Iowa tonight. Eastern Iowa Honor Flight 42 is expected to return to the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids around 8:30 – 9 pm. Parking is free.
Everyone is invited to welcome our heroes back home.
