Funeral Services Announced for Child Who Died in Greeley House Fire

Authorities have identified the name of the child who died in Saturday’s house fire in Greeley.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is 9-year old Brooklyn Lendt, the daughter of Kyle Lendt and Crystal Oberbreckling.

The 911 call came in Saturday around 3:30 am, reporting a house fire at 105 Beckner Street. The caller said a child was still inside the home. Fire departments from Greeley, Edgewood, Delaware and Manchester responded, with fire crews finding Brooklyn’s body inside the house.

The home was a total loss.

The Sheriff’s Office on Monday said the possible cause of the fire was an electrical issue – though it still remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.

Brooklyn was a fourth grader at Lambert Elementary in Manchester.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 Friday morning, April 29th Muller Funeral Home in Manchester.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, April 28th at the funeral home.
