Archdiocese of Dubuque Announces Several Priest Re-assignments

Several Catholic parishes in the area will be saying goodbye to their pastors this summer.

The Archdiocese of Dubuque announced their ministry re-assignments on Monday.

Father Dennis Quint, who is currently based in Dyersville, has been re-assigned as Pastor of St. Raphael Cathedral Parish and St. Patrick Parish in Dubuque and Pastoral Coordinator of Holy Family Catholic Schools in Dubuque. Father Quint has served two terms as Pastor of the Spires of Faith Cluster, which includes St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville, St. Joseph Parish in Earlville, St. Boniface Parish in New Vienna, SS. Peter & Paul Parish in Petersburg and St. Paul Parish in Worthington. He’s also served as the Pastoral Coordinator of St. Francis Xavier School and Beckman Catholic High School and is the Dean of the Dyersville Deanery. 

The new Pastor of the Spires of Faith Cluster in Dyersville, Earlville, New Vienna, Petersburg and Worthington will be Father Christopher Podhajsky. He’ll also serve as the Pastoral Coordinator of St. Francis Xavier School and Beckman Catholic. Father Podhajsky comes to the area after serving as Pastor of St. Mary Parish in McGregor, St. Patrick Parish in Monona and St. Bridget Parish in Postville.

Father Podhajsky will be joined at the Spires of Faith Cluster by new Associate Pastor Father Gabriel Oduro Mensah and Father Philip Agyei, who are from Ghana. 

Father Tyler Raymond will be re-assigned after serving as Associate Pastor of the Spires of Faith Cluster. Starting in July, he’ll be the Pastor of the LaSalle Pastorate, which serves parishes in Balltown, Holy Cross, Luxemburg, Rickardsville and Sherrill. Father Tyler will also serve as the Pastoral Coordinator of LaSalle Catholic Schools in Holy Cross, as well as continue providing a priest presence at Beckman Catholic. 

Father Noah Diehm will move from his Pastor duties of the LaSalle Pastorate to Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Gilbertville and Raymond. 

Father Nick March, who is currently Pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Anamosa and of the North linn Catholic Cluster in Central City, Coggon and Prairieburg, will be re-assigned as Pastor of St. Jude Parish in Cedar Rapids and Pastoral Coordinator of LaSalle Catholic School in Cedar Rapids.

Father Sean Smith will be re-assigned to Anamosa and the North Linn Catholic Cluster after serving in Harpers Ferry, Lansing, New Albin and Wexford.

And Father Mark Osterhaus has been assigned Dean of the Dyersville Deanery, in addition to his present assignment.

The re-assignments will take effect July 12th.
