A Strawberry Point man was arrested on drug charges in Manchester last weekend.
Manchester Police say they received a complaint of someone causing a disturbance at 121 South Franklin Street last Friday night around 11:30 pm.
When Officer Brad Comer arrived on the scene, they found 46-year old Michael Whalen of Strawberry Point getting off the ground using obscene language, trying to draw others into a physical altercation.
Officer Comer attempted to arrest Whalen, he resisted arrest by pulling away from Officer Comer and striking him with a closed fist.
Whalen was taken into custody.
After searching him, police found uncovered drug paraphernalia and an illegal narcotic. He also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Whalen faces charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as disorderly conduct, public intoxication, interference with official acts causing bodily injury and assault on persons in certain occupation.
Officer Comer suffered minor injuries to one of his hands during the altercation.
