Harold Allen Starry – Strawberry Point

Harold Allen Starry, 86, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Stonehill Care
Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on July 7, 1935, in Central City, the son of Harlan and Cuba (Merrill) Starry.

Harold was raised and educated in the Central City area graduating from Central City High School in 1953.
On November 28, 1954, Harold was united in marriage to Catherine Fleming at Central City. Eight children were
born to this union. Harold and Catherine worked together on their dairy farm between Strawberry Point and
Edgewood. Over the years Harold also worked several jobs off the farm.

Harold was a member of the American Guernsey Association, Farm Bureau, and FFA. He enjoyed woodworking and
fishing. Harold especially liked spending time with his family.

Survivors include his five children, Shevonne Starry of Dubuque, Sheila (Paul) Miller of Glendale, Arizona, Karen
(Jim Corrigan) Colton of Glendale, Arizona, Teresa (Curt) Starry-Bussler of Glencoe, Minnesota, and Lester (Lori)
Starry of Marion; seven grandchildren, Megan Basler, David Miller, Nicholas Miller, Kayla Colton, Kirsten Barott,
Brianna Starry and Caleb Starry; two great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Donna Smith, Susan Lucas, and
Doris (Howdy) House; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Marcia) Fleming and Duane (Mary) Fleming; and many nieces
and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; three children in infancy; his parents, Harlan and Cuba Starry;
parents-in-law, Lester and Leila Fleming; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Grace (Ken) Weaver, Guelda (Howard)
Pflughaupt, Glenna (Harold) Kirk, Doris (Jerry) Carson, Lola (Bill) Kiel, and Goldie Glow in infancy; two brothers-in
law, Lester “Joe” Fleming and Albert Fleming; his son-in-law, James Colton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa,
with Rev. Phil Rogers officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester,
Iowa.

Interment: Mt. Clark Cemetery – Central City, Iowa
