Governor Reynolds Orders Flags to Fly Half-Staff for Texas School Shooting Victims

Governor Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to fly at half-staff in honor and remembrance of the victims in Tuesday’s school shooting in Texas.

A gunman walked into Robb Elementary in Uvalde and massacred 19 children and two teachers. Police say 18-year old Salvador Ramos used an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle in the bloodshed, which ended when police stormed a classroom and killed him. Investigators shed no light on the motive for the attack, which also left at least 17 people wounded.

The governor’s order is issued in conjunction with President Biden’s proclamation to lower all U.S. flags to half-staff until sunset on Saturday.
