50th Annual Civil War Days in Hopkinton

Civil War Days will be taking place in Hopkinton this weekend.

Today through Sunday, the Delaware County Historical Museum Grounds will be filled with activities. Bob Sack says it kicks off tonight with a Fish Fry from 5 to 7 pm and night tours of the old museum buildings.

You can buy the buttons in advance at F&M Bank and the Manchester Chamber – or you can buy them on the grounds this weekend too.

Saturday’s events include a pancake breakfast from 7 to 9 am, the Civil War Days Parade at 9:45 am and numerous activities on the grounds – including live music, food trucks, Bingo, craft vendors, kids’ races, pioneer living demonstrations and Civil War reenactors. There will even be a Civil War battle re-enactment starting at 3:30 pm on the museum grounds.

On Saturday night, there will be a Hopkinton Fire & EMS Street Dance. And then on Sunday, there’s a church service at 9:30 am, a pop-up battle between the North and South on the museum grounds at 11 am and a Civil War monument re-dedication at noon. Sack invites everyone to come see what it’s all about.

Janelle Tucker will be broadcasting live from Civil War Days on KMCH on Saturday from 11 to 1.
