DOT Planning Improvements on Highway 13 North of Manchester

The DOT is planning to make improvements on Highway 13 north of Manchester.

And they’ll be holding a public meeting about their plans coming up next week.

The proposed work will take place on Highway 13 from Honey Creek just north of D-13 to the south junction of Highway 3. Crews will be removing the existing pavement and reconstructing the road. Through-traffic on Highway 13 will be detoured during construction using Highway 20, Highway 38 and Highway 3.

The DOT says construction is scheduled for 2024.

An open house about the improvements will be held next Thursday, June 16th from 4 to 6 pm at the Manchester Fire Station. DOT staff and consultants will be there to informally discuss the project.

You’ll also be able to learn more online at iowadot.gov/pim – just click on “IA 13 Own Pace”. That site will open up around noon next Thursday and be available to view through June 27th.

The DOT is welcoming the public to submit comments about the Highway 13 project through June 27th as well.
