Firefighters Called to Buchanan County Correctional Facility for Possible Roof Fire

Firefighters were called to the Buchanan County Correctional Facility late Monday night for a possible fire on the roof.

The Independence Fire Department says they were dispatched to the building around 10:30 pm. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. 

Crews were on the scene for about one hour. 

No injuries were reported.
